The first gin cocktail I ever drank was a Martini when I was about 16, at a wedding I think, and I could not understand how anyone would ever want to drink something so disgustingly hideous.... My oh my how times have changed!First gin cocktail you ever made?
Outside of the gin and tonic, being the classy guy I am, it was a French 75. Gin, lemon, orange and Champers. Those bubbles went straight to my head!Favourite gin cocktail at 7pm?
A Southside. Start the night off nice and light and fresh. Just make sure you check your teeth for mint leaves before you go out.Favourite gin cocktail at 10pm?
I'm not a Negroni man, so if we are going hard at 10pm then I'll go for a Martini. It takes years of experience to know your Martini limit.... I'll let you know when I work it out.Favourite bar in the world?
I think cocktails should be fun, and for me no one captures that like the drinks at Jason Atherton’s spots. His former and current bar gurus Gareth Evans and Jamie Jones make tasty drinks with a bit of humour. Probably my most visited bar is Blind Pig in Soho, London. The cocktails embody the childlike like wonderment that I think gets lost at many high end bars. Cocktail Trading Co is also well up there for exactly the same reason!
