Amsterdam is a city the Gin Journey is head over heels in love with. Drink, smoke, dance and be Dutchy.
Tales and Spirits
One of my favourite bars on this planet. When we’re in Amsterdam the Gin Journey always pop by to say hello. Boudewijn and the crew down at T&S are the hosts with all the mosts.
Loads of wood, outdoor seating down an Amsterdam side street off the canal and brilliant bar food with an Asian sprinkle. This spot ticks all the boxes for a drink any time during your evening. We drink Negronis and smile a lot. Go there!
P.S. Sunday is punch day.

Knock on the secret door at Reguliersdwarsstraat 74 (book ahead) and once you’ve been ushered beyond the secretive curtain you’re into a art deco wonderland of delicious cocktails.
Sit at the bar and order White Ladys. Thank us later.

Amsterdam Gin Festival
The Amsterdam Gin Festival has gone from strength to strength. Hosted by a friend of the Gin Journey, Mister Cocktail, the festival runs annually in May and brings a shed load of brands under one roof to sort out your sipping needs. There’s food trucks and a gin ferry too. These guys also run their Gin Festival in Rotterdam too.

When not drinking:
The Amsterdam Botanical Gardens – De Hortus – are brilliant.
Compact yet brimming with interesting bits. Grab a peaceful moment on one of the benches overlooking the canal with its picturesque bridge and listen to the honey bees buzz with the garden’s very own city hives. This a brilliant place to have a mini Amsterdam escape and you can also spot a load of plants that go into making drinks, the indoor high line is pretty cool too.

‘Lekker Super Lekker’
Basically lekker can mean anything from ‘it tastes great’ to ‘I’m having the best night’. When you’re happy everything is lekker.
